Jenny Owen Youngs - Led To The Sea Mp3

FDM.com is a total sucker for freewheeling folk pop. You know the type; breezy guitar melodies, totally unbound by pretence or unsullied by wordy introspection and essentially just out to have a rollicking good time. Is there ever a better sound-track to dappled spring sunshine and short-sleeves?
Such unbridled enthusiasm is why we've falling head-over-heels in love with bucolic New Jersey singer/songwriter Jenny Owen Youngs. For sure she hails from the same mainstream-friendly shark pool as Liz Phair but this is a far more sophisticated sound that shares more similarities with the deliciously-gentle folk purr of Azure Ray, and in particular a certain Maria Taylor. There's also a lovely pastoral feel to Jenny Owen Young's music that evokes the mythical space between Beth Orton's Stolen Car and The Sunday's saccharine sunshine pop.
To crown the sprightly days of early British spring FDM.com are giving away the title track from Jenny's 'Led To The Sea' EP to you, our lovely FDM.com readers. Simply frolic over to the Mp3 channel to download your free Mp3. Once you've done that why not head over to her Myspace page where, amongst equally splendid snapshots of sparkling folk pop, you'll find a sublime cover of 'Hot in Herre'. It's better than it sounds I promise thee.
